Auction: Stay in the Cauble House!

Have you ever wondered what it was like when Peter Cauble first arrived in Texas in the early 1830’s?
He came with his wife Mary Ann and their children Helen, Isaac Butler, Sarah, Martha and Peter Jr. They settled near Peach Tree Village which at that time was still part of Mexico (Texas did not gain their independence until 1836).

They had to cut down trees to build their hand hewn log house and to clear land for farming. The work was hard and the summers hot and humid. At the end of a typical day they probably sat on their front porch and relaxed before turning in for the night.

Relive history at the 2014 Reunion
We are auctioning off accommodation in the Cauble house for the reunion weekend. The high bidder will get to stay in the same house and sit on the same porch that Peter and his family enjoyed nearly 180 year’s ago. You won’t have to work and if it gets too uncomfortable on the porch, you can go inside where air conditioning has been added to their two bedroom one bath home.

Place your bid online now!
EXTENDED DEADLINE FOR ENTRY!  The winner will be announced on June 16, 2014
Proceeds will go to the Captain Todd Christmas Scholarship fund.
